On June 26, 2013, HudsonMOD magazine toasted to another year of a “Life Well Lived” with an unforgettable anniversary event.  The invitation-only event celebrated a second prosperous year for the luxury magazine.  Held at the beautiful Maritime Parc in Jersey City, NJ, the affair was a guaranteed success.

The night started out hot with Diem Brown hosting the red carpet as over 350 guests arrived.  The attendees were then invited to enjoy cocktails courtesy of Bacardi and Grey Goose, as well as delicious fare. To add to the elegant atmosphere and stunning view of the New York City skyline, guests took pleasure in an outdoor signature scotch and cigar bar.

This year’s host committee included David Cote, Maria Cucciniello Falzo, Eric Dahler, Daya Fernandez, and Scott Waldman.  Their extraordinary work made the night a huge victory for all.  In addition, it would not have been the same without the phenomenal sponsors consisting of ECRU New York, Saks Fifth Avenue, Bacardi, Grey Goose, Audi Meadowlands, Benzel-Busch Motor Car Corp, CHANEL, Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams, K.Hovnanian, and Clive Christian.

On June 23, 2014, the 5th annual Rival Golf Classic was held at the Plainfield Country Club in Edison, New Jersey.  The successful event wouldn’t have been the same without the support and sponsorship of Dr. Pepper, Snapple and Kellogs.

This year’s outing hosted numerous esteemed professional athletes and well-known faces including former New York Giants linebacker and co-host of the event, Harry Carson, as well as Dick Vermeil, former NFL coach, Lawrence Taylor, former New York Giants linebacker, Ed “Too Tall” Jones, former Dallas Cowboys defensive end, Thomas “Hollywood” Henderson, former Dallas Cowboys linebacker, Maurice DuBois, CBS Anchor, and many other prominent names.

The executives from Aston Martin Summit | Short Hills appreciated their inclusion in the event because, in addition to the renowned faces that were in attendance, there was an honorary medal ceremony administered by the National Guard.

The guardsmen presented the Distinguised Service Medal to the family of Matthew Laporte, a proud member of the Corps of Cadets at Virginia Tech University and a heartbreaking fatality of the VT massacre in 2007. The medal ceremony was certainly a highlight of this year’s golf tournament.  Everyone in attendence was moved upon hearing of Matthew LaPorte’s valor on that devastating day.

In addition to the ceremony and round of golf, the guests were invited to enjoy a Macallen Scotch tasting, Cohiba and Macanudo Cigar tastings, and an assortment of bites and spirits presented at a few of the holes.

Those in attendance hoped for a hole-in-one, which would warrant a free Aston Martin car provided by Aston Martin Summit | Short Hills.  Unfortunately, no one was successful. Better luck next time!

After a fun and eventful day at Plainfield Country Club, the guests enjoyed summery cocktails and dined in the company of the acclaimed icons.

A Look Back at 10 Years of Flawless Oscar Fashion

The star-studded 2014 award season is coming to an end with the Oscars coming up this Sunday. Sure we love the movies, the actors, and the speeches. What we really love the most though is the glitz, the glam, and the fashion. The Oscars are known to be one of the best nights of Red Carpet Fashion of the year, where the men look dapper and the women look absolutely classy and fabulous. Being nominated for an Academy Award is the highest honor an actor could ever dream of receiving. The event in itself brings out the best in the entertainment industry, so there are no questions as to why everyone who attends will be looking their best.

In honor of the Oscars, we decided to take a look back at some of the best-dressed winners from the past 10 years.

In 2004, Charlize Theron looked absolutely flawless in her sparkly Gucci gown upon receiving the award for her role in Monster. The neutral color goes perfectly with her skin tone and the train was the perfect length to strut down the carpet in.

In 2005, Hilary Swank snagged the award for best actress in Million Dollar Baby, wearing Guy Laroche. Not many people can pull off the high neckline, but with the complimentary open back she had heads turning and people talking for days.

In 2006, Reese Witherspoon nailed it with her Vintage Dior gown. Not only did she “Walk the Line,” but she also walked her way onto every best-dressed list for that night. In our opinion, vintage never goes out of style, especially for an event like the Oscars.

In 2007, Helen Mirren kept it classy and fabulous in her Christian Lacroix gown.  The pale, gold-beaded, custom-made piece fit her body like a glove. The neckline was able to enhance her beautiful smile as she claimed the award for her role in The Queen.

In 2008, Marion Cotillard looked like a beautiful modern-day mermaid in her Jean Paul Gaultier gown. White is a hard color to compliment, but the outlined fishtail fabric made it pop like no other dress before. Looking fabulous added to the amazing feeling of winning the award for her role in La Vie En Rose.

In 2009, Kate Winslet leaves everyone speechless in Atelier Yves Saint Laurent. Normally when it comes to these huge award shows, we prefer it when actresses don’t wear black, but this one shoulder satin-layered gown has us thinking otherwise. All we can say about this is, WOW. She won the best actress award for her role in the The Reader.

In 2010, Sandra Bullock won the esteemed best actress award for her role in The Blind Side wearing Marchesa. What better way to win an Oscar than looking like an Oscar itself? She looked absolutely beautiful with her straight hair, bold red lipstick, and minimal jewelry, all of which complimented the vintage beading on the dress. This quite possibly may be our favorite.

In 2011, Natalie Portman did not let pregnancy hold her back from looking stunning in Rodarte. The color choice was bold, but she pulled it off amazingly. The V neckline was able to shape her baby bump in all the right ways. She confidently walked down the carpet and then onto the stage to grab her award for her role in Black Swan.

In 2012, Meryl Streep was finally able to win an Academy Award for her role in The Iron Lady, where she wore a shiny gold gown by Lanvin. Remember how we said there was no better way to win an Oscar than looking like an Oscar itself? Well, we think Streep may have taken that notion a little too far with this one. The color of the dress does go well against her skin tone and she does look flawless, but this dress is not really one of our favorites. Iron Lady? More like the Goldmember!

To round things up, last year in 2013, Jennifer Lawrence not only won the award for best actress for her role in Silver Linings Playbook, but also the award for winning at life itself. She looked unbelievably breathtaking in the blush pink strapless Christian Dior gown. Although the large and heavy bottom may have caused her to take a tumble trying to claim her award, it didn’t matter because everyone was so taken back by how beautiful she looked. Her hair was pulled back perfectly to compliment the strapless nature of the dress and her makeup was flawless.

Anyone notice a trend in all the winner’s dresses? Aside from a few select standouts (Hilary Swank’s navy blue and Natalie Portman’s fuchsia) almost all of the winners wore a soft, neutral, often shimmery hue. Should this year’s nominees be taking note of this?! Whoever wins this year, I’m sure she will look absolutely stunning. Until then, we just really can’t wait to see what the Oscars will have in store for this wonderful night of Red Carpet fashion.

Lady Gaga’s ex emerges as artist 8-bit!

A shocking revelation of persona 8-Bit was made Thursday night at a Private Media Event for Cary Nokey hosted at The Box in Manhattan: Grammy award winning producer Rob Fusari, former Gaga boyfriend and producer of the FAME album, is 8-Bit! Cary Nokey is a newly formulated EDM grit meets glam band consisting of 8-bit and DJ ValNtino.

“My life has been love and distortion. I am warm but blurred—a walking bit reduction. I am 8-Bit!” – Rob Fusari, or should I say 8-Bit, announced Thursday to start the Cary Nokey show.

As a music record producer, Rob Fusari built the career of Lady Gaga from 2006-2009 including name, image and Grammy award winning songs such as “Paparazzi.” After his successful founding and artist development with Gaga, Rob found himself at a loss for fresh talent to develop. Months of searching left him at a stalemate to better the industry with cutting edge music.

The big break came all at once November 26, 2012 when Rob realized the magic captured within his soul should be expressed genuinely through him! This was the ignition of the persona 8-bit. After 15 years of production he consistently used a signature distortion of either a particular element within the song or over the entire mix. This distortion was his integration of analog in an overly immerse digital industry causing a smearing warm effect on his tracks.

Get ready for the next Gaga, enter 8-Bit.

The Art of Celebrity PR

You’re an up-and-coming actor and just landed a small role in Michael Bay’s next big Blockbuster but you have no idea how to tell the world of this news. The simple answer is to hire a public relations firm!

From the moment someone decides to have an acting (or music) career, they must know that if they are not in the spotlight, then they won’t become a star. Hiring a public relations team from the beginning will give you a leg up on your peers and give you the resources you need to succeed in the competitive acting world.

Celebrity pr is about more than just gossip magazines and news sites. It’s also about appearances on late night television shows and feature stories in well-respected magazines and newspapers throughout the world. It’s about attending the right V.I.P. events and being seen at the latest hotspots in NYC and Los Angeles. It’s about building your fan base- one Facebook friend at a time!

The right pr agency will be able to help identify your audience and target them and the media, accordingly. Justin Beiber appearing on the cover of AARP magazine would make no sense, but if he appeared on the cover on Teen Vogue, he would be directly speaking to his target audience and build a bigger buzz around him as a brand.

Whether you’re a reality star, soap opera actor the next action hero, Hollywood can be a competitive world. With the right mix of talent, press exposure and drive to succeed, you may be the next big A-lister!
