The Montclair Art Museum is a notable, community-based institution with an international reputation. They are the home of a renowned collection of American and Native American art that uniquely highlights art making in the United States over the last three hundred years. The collection includes more than 12,000 objects: paintings, prints, original works on paper, photographs, and sculpture by American artists from the 18th century to the present. Also, The Museum’s education programs serve a wide public and bring artists, performers, and scholars to the Museum on a regular basis.
On January 15, 1914, the Montclair Art Museum opened its doors for the first time to the public. In celebration of their 100th year, all throughout 2014 the Museum has been and continues to celebrate that moment with a wide variety of events and activities. So far MAM has put together various art exhibitions and showcasing events for the public and there are still many events to look forward to as their 100th year celebrations continue. Events such as a Celebrity featured Luncheon and the highly anticipated Centennial Ball are still yet to come in the month of April.
With that, the Montclair Art Museum invites YOU to the party of the century! On April 26th, The Montclair Art Museum will host their self-titled Centennial Ball, celebrating art through the decades. To go along with the celebratory theme of the night, guests are invited to partake in the fun by dressing from their favorite decade for a chic soirée to better capture the essence of celebrating art and fashion through the century. Use “The Great Gatsby” as a source of inspiration for the hottest 1920’s look and get your men looking as dapper as Mr. DiCaprio. Once you’ve got the perfect look, cocktails will be held in Leir Hall at 6:30pm inside the Museum followed by dinner in the Grand Tent at 8:00pm on the front lawn.
The evening will celebrate MAM past presidents, founders William T. Evans and Florence Rand Lang and the leaders who have helped transform the Museum galleries over the past century. A silent and live auction will also be held in celebration of art and the future it holds at the museum with luxury gifts from H. Stern, Marchesa and many more. The night is then all tied together with a fashionably late dance party, giving everyone the perfect excuse to get dressed up and dance the night away.
MAM is hosting the party you don’t want to miss. The Fashionably Late Dance Party portion of the night will include lounge style seating, music by New York City Celebrity DJ, Gabriel Levy, and bites of comfort food delicacies from NYC eatery The Melt Shop as well as street car eats from Applegate Farms. There are even private coach busses bound for Montclair on the night of the event so that city dwellers can attend.
Help the Montclair Art Museum blow out one hundred candles and celebrate 100 years of fashion and art at their Centennial Ball and a Fashionably Late Dance Party. It’s a party no from any decade or generation is going to want to miss!
