The Hip Event’s ninth step for planning the perfect event for any occasion.
Today’s Tip: Plan for the Unexpected!
The day is finally here! All the planning and all the stress is finally going to pay off. The most important thing to do is to stay as calm as possible. Things may get frantic, things may get crazy, things will go wrong, but the best way to handle it all is by staying calm. A meltdown or two may occur, but that is nothing out of the ordinary for someone with so much on their plate.
With proper planning and preparation, things should go smoothly, but nothing is perfect, so expect things to go wrong. If you start your day not prepared to have a plan b, things can get messy. So, our tip, is plan for the unexpected. Our first tip was to plan, plan, plan and plan some more. If everything is written down and properly executed, you should have a success! But, any planner knows you have to be prepared for things to go wrong.
We have previously emphasized the importance of lists and today is one day in specific that your list is going to be most vital. The day of your event or party, you should create a periodic list of what time things should be done and an order of events leading up to the start of the party. This way things are getting done, in their ordered time slot, spaced out, and preventing things from happening all at once. With this approach to set up, there should be a smooth transition into the beginning of your party.
With your pile of lists and team of help your party or event should go as planned and work out perfectly. After the night is over and all your guests have had a great time you will be full of relief and feel accomplished. Staying calm and being prepared are the biggest preparation components every planner should carry with them. Most importantly, have fun and nothing is ever as bad as it seems. It will all be worth it!
