The 55th Grammy Awards 2013 took place last night at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Due to the strict dress code stars toned it down a bit, but there were a certain few that found loopholes around covering up. Check out some of our favorite looks of the night.
Thigh High Slits
Slits are a sexy addition to any dress. J.Lo flaunted her legs all night in an oh so revealing dress. She channeled Angelina Jolie’s infamous right leg with a black Anthony Zacarello number with a waist-high right split. Last but not least, the daring diva decorated herself in $5 million dollars worth of jewelry and what better time to rock the over-the-top diamonds than an awards show!
Cut it Out
Cutout dresses always add excitement to any look. Taylor Swift, Karlie Kloss, and Kelly Osbourne kept it fun by rocking subtle cutouts. Taylor Swift looked remarkable in her Grecian-inspired white J. Mendel gown. The silver accents add instant glam to the dress. She complimented the look with her barely there make-up. Taylor showed us how fast she is growing up!
Who Wears the Pants?
Janelle Monáe and Jeannie Mai decided to challenge the rules in a different way. They ditched the traditional formal dress attire and opted for pants instead! However, no one shocked us more than mega-star Beyonce who arrived in an Osman jumpsuit – she looked pretty amazing, simple and effortless. Even though she dressed down, the pop star walked away with Best Traditional R&B Performance for “Love on Top.” She proved that she doesn’t need to wear a gown, she’s the Queen B!
Kelly Rowland in her risqué Georges Chakra Couture dress and Rihanna in her ravishing Azzedine Alaia gown left little to everyone’s imaginations with their sheer panels. Kelly’s dress managed to look beautiful and meet the Grammys dress code, while Rihanna was red hot as she rocked Neil Lane jewelry and Manolo Blahnik shoes. Both looked ravishing and rocked the trend to perfection.
The CBS dress code has us pondering the stars’ attire. But as always, they left us amazed and in awe with each of their looks. We can only imagine what the Oscars are going to bring. Keep it locked here for the latest award show news.
